Settlers of Catan 5 to 6 Player Expansion

An essential purchase for anyone with more than 3 friends / family members who are up for a game of Settlers of Catan. There isn't much to tell about this expansion - it does exactly what it says on the erm... box. Normally the basic core game of Settlers of Catan grants you a maximum of 4 players, which isn't many when you think about it, and most people can't be bothered waiting or watching while the others finish their game. So the additional components you get with this expansion provide all you need to have a seamless 5-6 player game.

The expansion basically adds two additional features to the core game of Settlers of Catan. The first being that there are additional components to make the game board larger, by adding extra tiles etc. The second feature being that the turn structure of the rules have been changed slightly. Players now build their roads and settlements etc at the end of each turn simultaneously, if indeed required. The reason for this is so that the game runs smoothly and keeps all players interested whilst they wait for their turn to come around again. This also keeps the game from going on for too long (which wouldn't bother me personally). In a 3-4 player game this was never a problem but if you do decide to play the game exactly as you normally would with the core game then by all means do so! Off you go then - have fun!
