Avalon Hill is now a division of the game company Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro.
Some Avalon Hill Trivia:
- Avalon Hill's first publication was called Tactics. It is widely considered to be the first commercial wargame.
- Avalon Hill pioneered many of the concepts of modern recreational wargaming such as: the hexgrid, zones of control, unit stacking, odds-based combat resolution, terrain effects, troop strength, morale, and board games based upon historical events.
What would we have done without them?!
